SFCC to offer Lifelong Learning classes

Source: The Sedalia Democrat, Sedalia, Mo.迷你倉新蒲崗Aug. 22--State Fair Community College will offer a variety of Lifelong Learning classes beginning in September.--Log Cabin Quilt will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays for five weeks beginning Sept. 9 in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center, room 119. This course is taught as a beginning class, but experienced quilters are welcome. Basic sewing skills are needed and a sewing machine is required for class. A supply list is available upon enrollment. Cost is $69; instructors are Glenda Hawkins and Ann Spurrier.--Mixed Media will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays for four weeks beginning Sept. 10 in the Fielding Technical Center, room 305. Participants will create a photo art piece from a photo print and their choices of other media. Cost is $59; instructor is Mary Kindle.--Drawing for Enjoyment will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays for five weeks beginning Sept. 10 in the Stauffacher Center for the Fine Arts, room 38. This class is for people who would like to learn, practice and improve their drawing skills. All skill levels welcome. Cost is $69; instructor is Janice Hargrave.--Harvesting Herbs will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 12 in the Yeater Learning Center, room 148. The class teaches how to harvest, preserve and use herbs in cooking. Cost is $21; instructor is Kathy Menefee.--Build Your Brand will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays for six weeks beginning Sept. 12 in the Fielding Technical Center, room 305. The class helps nonprofit organizations, home-based businesses or other businesses create marketing products, such as a logo, brochures and a basic website. Cost is $79; instructor is Mary Kindle.--Get Comfortable With Your Computer will meet from 4 to 6 p.m. S迷你倉出租pt. 10 in the Fielding Technical Center, room 200. Designed for people with little or no computer experience, the class will teach the basics of turning on the computer, the parts of the computer, mouse skills, an overview of the programs installed on the computer, and basic operational functions. Cost is $25; instructor is Vern Haynes III.--Windows 8 will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 10 in the Fielding Technical Center, room 229. Students will learn some of the basics of Windows 8, such as configuring a computer for wireless access and installing devices, as well as some tips, best practices and add-ons. Cost is $39; instructor is Vern Haynes III.--Missouri Concealed Carry, a National Rifle Association (NRA)-certified course, will meet from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or until finished, on Sept. 14 in the Potter-Ewing Agriculture Building. It is a comprehensive training experience in pistol safety, operations, mental preparation, and firearms law. It is at least 10 hours long and includes classroom and range time. Cost is $99 plus a $10 materials fee payable at the first class. Instructor is Bill Chapman, an NRA-certified instructor and certified law enforcement instructor.
