BRIEF: Easy Pass errors 'just a glitch'
Source: Bangkok Post, ThailandAug.自存倉 21--The Expressway Authority of Thailand (Exat) has ensured that erroneous 'Easy Pass' balance displays that sometimes appear on tollways' electronic screens do not affect the users' actual balance. Many complaints have been sent to the agency on the problem because Easy Pass holders misunderstood that their balances have been mistakenly deducted or altered when they passed through the tollgate, Chawalit Wattanakul, deputy chief of the construction and maintenance department said.He clarified that the users' balances remain the same, he said.Mr Chawalit said drivers made around 700,000 trips through electronic tolling booths a day, exceeding the limit for the迷你倉新蒲崗current electronic tolling system to run efficiently which was set at about 500,000 trips daily. The agency has revamped the system so that it could handle millions of trips each day and the upgrade is to be completed by six months, the official added. He said that after the tolling system is improved, the agency will also reduce the wait time for an Easy Pass user to work after a top up, from 15 minutes to 4 hours to less than 15 minutes. There are currently 264 electronic tolling booths and around 700,000 Easy Pass holders.Copyright: ___ (c)2013 the Bangkok Post (Bangkok, Thailand) Visit the Bangkok Post (Bangkok, Thailand) at .bangkokpost.com Distributed by MCT Information Services迷你倉出租
