BRIEF: W-B woman pleads guilty to bank robbery role

Source: The Times Leader, Wilkes-Barre, Pa.迷你倉Oct. 23--SCRANTON -- Vanessa Ramos of Wilkes-Barre pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to aiding and abetting a Dunmore bank robbery on June 28.According to a press release from U.S. Attorney Peter J. Smith, Ramos, 23, admitted she acted as getaway driver for Romeal Price in the robbery of about $11,000 from the Pennstar Bank on O'Neill Highway, Dunmore. At the time, Price, 36, was a fugitive escapee from the Catholic Social Services Reentry Center in Scranton 10 days earlier. He had been completing a 15-year federal prison smini storagentence at the center.Price fled to New York City and was arrested July 17 by U.S. Marshals. He admitted to the escape and bank robbery charges in federal court Sept. 6.Ramos faces a maximum of 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years probation, though in the plea bargain prosecutors agree to suggest reductions in sentencing because Ramos admitted guilt and was a "minor" party in the robbery.Copyright: ___ (c)2013 The Times Leader (Wilkes-Barre, Pa.)
